Your home's exterior components, along with the roof and drainage system, act together to keep the interior of your home warm, dry and moisture-free. Including the roof covering, we will also inspect your siding, windows, doors, walkways, driveways, stairs, porches, ramps, decks, balconies, and any other components that enclose the house for moisture damage, potential moisture ingress, and structural issues.
The roof of your house is exposed to the harshness of our climate and has to be continuously checked and maintained to prevent deterioration. For your protection, we will inspect your home's roof covering materials (shingles), gutters, downspouts, vents, flashings, chimney, and all other roof penetrations for damage and their ability to divert water away from the building structure.
Your home's interior is where you live your life. To keep you and your family safe and comfortable, we will thoroughly inspect your home's walls, ceilings, floors steps, stairs, railings, doors, windows, and handrails for any evidence of water damage and/or potential structural issues.
The purpose of your home's basement, or foundation, is to transfer the weight of the house to the ground. Foundation issues can range anywhere from a typical concrete crack to a catastrophic failure. During our thorough inspection of your foundation, we will help you identify potential issues in the foundation structure to avoid such catastrophes, as well as any water drainage issues.
The heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) system is one of the most important systems in your home. This allows your home to be heated in the cooler climates, cooled in the hotter climates, and ventilated to remove any harmful fumes to keep your family comfortable and safe. We inspect to make sure your thermostat, furnace, air conditioner, and heat pump are in working condition.
Your plumbing system is a very important part of your home, as it is used to provide you hot and cold water, as well as to remove wastewater. We inspect the components of that system, including toilets, sinks, tub, and showers for proper operation as well as the drain, waste and vent system. The main water and fuel shut-off valves are also an important part of our inspection, along with a more detail examination of your home's water heater.
The electrical system of your home must be inspected carefully for proper function as well as safety. A problem with the electrical system can result in injury or even death. We will thoroughly inspect the condition of your home's electrical panel for safety, as well as your home's wiring, outlets, and light switches and fixtures.
While an attic is often used for storage, it is an extremely important part of a home inspection and is treated as such. Issues that our attic inspection can bring to light include fire damage, water damage, animal infestations, chimney ventilation, improper attic insulation, as well as issues with the underside of the roof. Identifying these potential issues up front will save you and your family thousands of dollars.
